Hi, new show tomorrow - 'Shimmer' - on the beach at Felixstowe. purplesnails are as busy as bees getting ready. We are doing miniatures, based in a miniature house, a beach hut. Nearly all set up, just a few more tweaks and we are ready for the Private View. Sunday being Art on the Prom , the annual Felixstowe Art Festival we are expecting many visitors and a fun couple of days. Come along to Art on the Prom and visit us at Beach Hut no 75, you are very welcome. Our web site www.purplesnail.co.uk will keep you updated on our couple of days. Jac

Although it is cold and rainy outside today I am thinking about Summer Projects with purplesnail. It feels good to think that summer will , one day, be here, and that we will all be out along the prom in warm sunshine. In the meantime it is good to be planning summer activities and art by the sea is always interesting. Watch this space! I shall reveal the show soon, as and when it is a little more finalised.

Hi, I am in the thick of a lot of things right now. Creating fibreglass beach huts with purplesnail for an installation - creating an arts council in Felixstowe to up the ante as far as great and inspiring work is concerned and then thinking about projecting work onto the sea. What i want to know is... has anyone ever projected art work onto the sea before? Be grateful if someone in the know would say.

Yesterday i said I was going to upload a pic to my gallery but I have discovered that I can't so I am seeking help. It is not a jpeg file... is ths the problem? I scanned it from my printer and it came across as a word document and I could not put it in the gallery. Or is there more....? Any help would be most welcome, thank you. I also noticed that my blog hadn't published from yesterday, I am obviously having bad hair days with technology.

I want to thank everyone who came to my party on Saturday 20th Jan. 2007. What a great evening/early morning. The winner of the tiddleywinks competition was Carolyn, so well done. I must say I think some of the scores appear to have been exagerated by an alcohol induced moment of competitivness. Scores of 610, when the max score in one round is 200, are somewhat dodgy and I have to say I took an executive decision to rule them out of the competition! Thanks also for the lovely pressies, candles and jewels, perfect!I hear Monday was supposed to be the 'bluest day' of the year, something to do with first full week back to work after all the festivities and not a lot to look forward to until Spring. I was busy on Monday - post party clean up still going on - plus I work from my studio at home, but I must say that the thought of the long cold days ahead is slightly foreboding. I shall just have to get creative and work on selling my art. I am posting a pic of the Angel I did for a Festival of Angels and which subsequently hung in the foyer of Eriksson in Reading, Berkshire, for a while over Christmas. I am looking for ideas of how to forward 'foyer' work on perspex so if anyone has any ideas I they would be gratefully received.

Inspiration after the lull!
This is a new week. I know this sounds obvious but after Art on The Prom and taking Joe up to Uni I haven't felt as if there has been any 'space' for creating. Now I do. Tomorrow I shall post beginnings of work for The Festival of Angels, Langham, Dec 8th 9th and 10th. Hooray, back into the Studio, see you tommorrow.
